About the Preschool
Licensed by the California State Department of Social Services, Kensington Preschool is a non-profit community service activity of the Kensington Community Church (United Church of Christ). The preschool is supported entirely by tuitions, and is governed by a board composed of Church and community members. This board reports to the Council and Trustees of the Church.

Our Purpose
The Preschool seeks to provide children with a creative growth experience and to support the activities of home and family. The program emphasizes the development of social living, creative experiences, and physical and emotional growth. Concepts of Christian living are an integral part of the program and are presented by caring example.

Our Staff
Teachers at Kensington Preschool are selected for their ability to relate to young children, their education and experience in child development. All are qualified to provide the appropriate learning experiences for each age level in a warm, loving environment, supporting and guiding children as they learn about our world. A ratio of eight children or less to each teacher is maintained as is age appropriate.

Parent Involvement
Parents are urged to take an active role in the life of the preschool. Opportunities for such participation include:

Class
Sessions are from September to June with children enrolled as space is available throughout the year.
2's Classes
MW 9:15-11:45 a.m. or TTh 9:15-11:45 a.m.
(Child must be 2 years old before December 1st and may not start class until second birthday.)
3's Classes
MWF 9-12 noon or TTh 9-12 noon
(Child must be 3 by December 1st)
4's Classes
MWF 9-12 noon or TTh 9-12 noon
(Child must be 4 by December 1st)
Note: 4's classes may be combined so child may attend four or five days if space is available.

Admission
Kensington Preschool is open to children 2 to 5 years of age. The school is operated on a non-discriminatory basis, according equal treatment and access to services without regard to race, creed or religion. A total of 44 children may be enrolled each day. A waiting list is kept throughout the school year.
Prior to enrollment you need to:
- Visit school with your child
- Exchange information with the preschool director
- Fill out required forms
- Show proof of immunizations
- Pay registration fee

Tuition
Tuition is based on the number of school days in your child's session and is divided into 10 equal payments due by the 10th of each month, September through June. Those who enroll later in the year will have tuition pro-rated.
Special rates may apply to families with more than one child in the Preschool or for those who elect to pay annually or semi-annually in advance.
Most sessions are based on two or three mornings per week. Four-year olds may attend up to five mornings per week for the appropriate fees if space is available.
