Sunday Worship July 9 – Aug. 27:
Summer Sunday School:
Angie Solom, our youth group leader, will be stepping down in June. Expecting her second child, Angie has worked this side gig in addition to a full-time job for the County and she’s looking forward to more time with her family and little ones. We will honor Angie’s seven years of service on Wednesday, June 7, 8 to 8:30 PM in the Youth Hall. We welcome folks who want to celebrate Angie’s contributions — even parents and families of youth who have graduated or are no longer active – to join us for our tribute. Enrique Dudley will continue to serve as a leader of our youth group. Marg and Enrique will be looking at the current format and welcome your suggestions as we continuously tailor the group to meet the needs of our youth and families.
Angie has brought a deep love of youth, keen organizational skills, and unflagging energy and enthusiasm to our ministry. She embraced sleepless lock-ins and campouts, she championed fun and stress-relieving outings, and no one worked harder to rally youth for posada, egg hunts, and concession stands. She co-taught Our Whole Lives, she shepherded kids to the National Youth Event, and organized many service projects. We are indebted to Angie for her service to our church.

The choir continues to work on our Father’s Day performance of Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” Under the musical direction of Meagan Flint, KCC offers FREE music instruction for your children, ages Preschool through 12th Grades on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, 11 AM to Noon, in the Youth Hall. The choir will combine instruction with social justice themes, as well as performance opportunities a few times a year in church. Please note the revised Youth Choir schedule for the spring.
We offer confirmation classes to 6th grade and older students who are interested in learning more about their faith and initiating a faith they call their own. Talk to Marg Stark, Minister of faith programs, if you or your child is interested in Confirmation.
This multi-session program is for 7th to 9th graders to promote self-worth, sexual health, responsibility and justice and inclusivity. We offer it every other year, on the off years from Confirmation.
